A Corbin man was arrested by Laurel County deputies the afternoon of Tuesday, August 22. The arrest occurred off West Cumberland Gap Parkway after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a male subject in a motel parking lot attempting to get into vehicles. Upon arrival, the suspect, Joseph Adkins, 42, was found passed out on the hallway floor of the motel. After being woken up, Adkins began cursing loudly and creating a disturbance. The odor of alcohol was emitting from the suspect as well, and he had slurred speech. He made several threats to the deputies. He was charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and terroristic threatening. Adkins had been arrested 24 hours earlier following a domestic violence complaint off April Lane, where he was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
