On Thursday, October 12, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office received information that a fugitive wanted on a Bell County Warrant was at a residence on Swan Lake Road off Highway KY 459 south of Barbourville. Upon gaining entry into the residence, Sheriff Mike Smith and Sgt Carl Bolton located the fugitive, Russel Davenport, hiding in the attic. Davenport was wanted on a warrant for attempted murder and wanton endangerment and lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
