Governor Matt Bevin and Governor Hideaki Ohmura, of the Aichi Prefecture Government in Japan, signed a memorandum of understanding Monday, October 23, emphasizing each region’s commitment to continue their partnership. Aichi prefecture is home to numerous manufacturing corporations, including 59 companies that operate a total of 94 facilities in Kentucky. Governor Bevin side the base of the two region’s economies is very similar, both dealing predominantly in engineering and manufacturing. The agreement establishes intention to increase prosperity in both regions and to further develop the relationship through close friendship, cooperation, and promoting private-sector exchange.
