The Kentucky Lottery’s Mega Millions game has undergone some changes designed to mean bigger jackpots and more millionaires. The changes to Mega Millions will mean more value and a larger starting jackpot, according to Kentucky Lottery President and CEO Tom Delacenserie. The starting jackpot will go up from $15 million to $40 million, meaning jackpots will grow faster. The ticket price moves from $1 to $2 a play, the same as the Powerball game. Players will now select five numbers from 1 to 70 and a final number from 1 to 25, which will help jackpots grow faster. The odds are better to win a million dollar prize and higher secondary prizes. For an extra buck, the new “Just the Jackpot” option will give players a second chance at the top prize only.
