Two Floyd County Schools counselors have been named High School and Middle School Counselors of the Year at the 2017 Kentucky Counseling Associations Conference. Sandy Mullins, a former guidance counselor at Allen Central High School, has been a counselor at Floyd County Early College Academy for the six years. The other winner, Kasey Tackett, has served a counselor at Duff-Allen Central Elementary for the past ten years. Superintendent Steve Trimble congratulated the two and said the counselors are bridging gaps between home and school, helping students emotionally and academically.
