Floyd Central High Tops Academic Competition

Results have been released for Floyd County teams and students who competed in the Kentucky Association for Academic Competition’s JV Challenge on Saturday, November 11, 2017. The competition included students from Floyd Central High School, Prestonsburg High School, Letcher County Central High School and Jackson Independent High School. Final scores in the competition placed Floyd Central High School in 1st place overall, with Prestonsburg High School coming in 4th place in the final standings. Superintendent Steve Trimble said he and the board team are proud of the 9th and 19th grade students from Floyd Central and Prestonsburg High School and their performance in this competition. He encouraged community members to come to an academic meet to support students in this competitive events.
