Woman Arrested in Knox County on Thanksgiving Day After Fleeing Police

Knox County deputies made an arrest on Thursday, November 23, 2017, following a complaint of an intoxicated woman at a residence on Payne’s Creek Road in Hinkle. Upon arrival of Deputy Claude Hudson, the woman fled on foot in to the woods, and was later spotted driving a vehicle. A pursuit began, which resulted in a minor collision between the two vehicles. The driver, Jennifer Marie Gray, attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended. Two passengers inside the vehicle, including Gray’s 12-year-old daughter, who was struck by the vehicle after exiting before the collision. She was treated for minor injuries at Barbourville ARH. Gray was charged with fleeing, wanton endangerment and criminal mischief, and lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
