Laurel County Juvenile Arrested for DUI Following Pursuit

An arrest have been made in a vehicle pursuit in Laurel County. On Wednesday, December 27, 2017, around 8am, Kentucky State Police Trooper Chris Saunders was patrolling on US HWY 25 in the Lily community of Laurel County when he observed a 1995 Ford Ranger pick-up truck that had been reported stolen earlier that morning from a residence on Barbourville Road. A stop was attempted, but the driver, later identified as a juvenile, refused to stop. A pursuit was initiated and continued for several minutes until the operator traveled into a field and rammed a Laurel County Sheriff’s patrol car and Trooper Saunders’ patrol car. The juvenile then fled on foot and was located several minutes later. No one was injured during the pursuit. The juvenile was arrested and charged with reckless driving, fleeing/evading police, DUI, wanton endangerment, and several other traffic charges.
