Governor Matt Bevin has named Kevin Williams, of Irvine, as Judge-Executive of Estill County. Williams will replace Wallace Taylor, who has resigned. Williams is a small business owner and has served as an elected official for the city council of Irvine and the Estill County Fiscal Court. He said the escalating financial difficulties and need for job growth in Estill County are key reasons why he is willing to make his return to the Fiscal Court. His appointment will take effect on January 1, 2018 and will serve until the position is filled in accordance with the results of the November 2018 midterm election.
