Kentucky State Representative Kelly Flood, of District 75, has filed a bill seeking review of Kentucky Universities’ sports-sponsorship contracts. The representative began reviewing corporate sponsorship contracts after the University of Louisville’s relationship with ADIDAS became a focal point in a federal investigation. Flood’s bill would give trustees the ability to ensure that the university’s financial security and reputation are protected in these public-private partnerships. The legislation will be considered during the 2018 Regular Session.
