House Bill Introduced to Legalize Medical Cannabis

A bill was introduced in the Kentucky House of Representatives on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 to legalize the use of medical cannabis. House Bill 166 would restrict medical cannabis to certain patients with qualifying medical conditions, as well as regulate the cultivation and distribution. The bill, co-sponsored by Representatives John Sims Jr. and Al Gentry, would also establish taxes for distributors, producers, and processors, and the creation of a cannabis trust fund to assist in the operation of the Cannabis Enforcement Program.
