A Boyd County Detention Center escapee has been apprehended. Thomas Bentley, along with three other inmates, escaped from the Boyd County Detention Center on December 28, 2017. He was arrested the afternoon of Wednesday, January 17, 2018 on Armco Boulevard after a short foot pursuit. Russell Police provided a tip to Ashland Police that the inmate had been dropped off in the area of Hoods Creek Pike. Ashland Police Officers and Boyd County Sheriff’s Deputies were able to apprehend Bentley in a wooded area off Armco Boulevard. All four inmates that escaped have now been captured. Bentley was lodged in the Greenup County Detention Center.
