Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Highway District 12 will be conducting seismic testing during the next week. Jody Hunt, Permits Engineer at Highway District 12, explained that Precision Geophysical of Millersburg Ohio is conducting seismic testing for oil and gas deposits in Lawrence and Martin Counties. The large rig will periodically stop along roads with a plate underneath the truck checking for vibrations underneath the earth to determine the location of oil and gas deposits. Hunt asks motorists to be respectful of the mobile work zone as it travels along the roadways.
