On Tuesday, January 23, 2018, the Perry County School Board voted to add additional school days to the 2017-2018 school calendar. Five Saturdays will be added as regular school days. The dates for those additional days are January 27, February 24, March 24, April 21, and May 19. The dates for March through May are subject to removal based on total days missed after February. Superintendent Jonathan Jett said these change were made in an effort to add back instructional days that have been missed because of unforeseen cancellations due to the City of Hazard water issues.
