The Kentucky Department of Revenue is finalizing its processes and procedures for the current tax season to make filing as efficient and safe as possible. The Department of Revenue asks Kentucky taxpayers to file as early as possible and will begin accepting both electronic and paper tax returns on January 29, 2018. The state will begin processing individual income tax refunds as soon as possible and no later than Monday, February 26, 2018. This date has been pushed back from Kentucky’s usual February 15, 2018 date to allow more time to test counter-fraud measures using actual data.
