On Friday, January 26, 2018, the Louisa Police Department welcomed Patrolman Shane James after his completion of the basic training with the Department of Criminal Justice Law Enforcement Academy. Patrolman James is a member of the 488th class and received several awards for his accomplishments, such as Recruit Distinction Award, Academic Achievement Award, Fit for Duty Award, and the Kentucky Veterans Award. Patrolman James brings the department back up to six full time officers.
