One Dead in Perry County Crash

A Perry County man was killed following a two vehicle crash late Tuesday afternoon. Kentucky State Police Post 13 was notified of the collision just after 5pm. An investigation of the scene determined that Roger Clark, age 46, of Viper, was operating a 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo on Highway 7 South. The car crossed the centerline and entered the northbound lane, where it collided with a 2012 Dodge Ram driven by 29-year-old Matthew Sturgill of Cumberland. Clark was pronounced dead at the scene by Perry County Deputy Coroner Jeff Combs. Sturgill was transported to the Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. No autopsy will be performed and toxicology results on both drivers are pending.
