Two Arrested for Tool Theft in Knox County

On Thursday, February 15, 2018, Knox County Deputy Claude Hudson responded to a complaint involving the theft of hand tools at Forrest Products on Ky 233 in Gray. After conducting an investigation, collecting evidence at the scene and conducting a neighborhood canvas, Deputy Hudson developed two suspects. Information was also developed on the location where the tools were hidden. The stolen tools were located hidden in the woods behind a residence on Bertha Hollow Road in Gray. On Friday, February 16, 2018, Deputy Hudson arrested Samuel Boyd Phipps, age 35 of Gray, and charged the second suspect, Joseph Elliot, 26, also of Gray, on Sunday, February 18, 2018. Both were charged with theft by unlawful taking. Elliot was arrested for a bench warrant on Saturday February 17, 2018 and was already incarcerated.
