Three Arrested for Drug Trafficking in Prestonsburg

On Tuesday, March 6, 2018, Prestonsburg Police Officers were dispatched to the Quality Inn for a fraudulent credit card complaint. Upon arrival, officers learned that the accused individuals, Richard Mullins, Selina Lawrence, and Steven Stephens, had used the card to pay for their room. Upon attempting to make contact with the individuals, officers noticed a distinct odor commonly accompanied with the manufacturing of methamphetamine. Upon contact with the subjects inside the room, officers observed a variety of drug paraphernalia in open view. Further investigation uncovered a large quantity of methamphetamine, cash, other drug paraphernalia and multiple firearms. Officers also learned that Stephens and Mullins were convicted felons and on probation for previous federal criminal convictions. Lawrence, Mullins, and Stephens were charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and lodged in the Floyd County Jail.
