On Wednesday, March 7, 2018, the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office assisted Probation and Parole at a residence in Cawood. Thomas Smith, 34, of Cawood, was arrested on two warrants for probation violation. A searched of the subject resulted in locating several individual baggies containing suspected methamphetamine. Smith was charged with trafficking in controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.
