Grand Jury Indicts Man for Murder of Pikeville Police Officer

A man has been indicted in the murder of Pikeville Police Officer Scotty Hamilton. On Wednesday, March 21, 2018, John Russell Hall was indicted by a grand jury in Pike County Circuit Court with murder, two counts of possession of firearm by a convicted felon, receiving stolen property, and persistent felony offender. Additionally, four other individuals connected to the case, Amanda Dotson, Jeanne Blackburn, Michael Slone, and Gregory Slone, were indicted on charges of hindering prosecution, promoting contraband, and persistent felony offender. A trial date has not yet been set.
