Knox Co. Electricity Theft Arrest

On Tuesday, June 12, 2018, Knox County Deputy Claude Hudson responded to a residence at KY 1304 in Hinkle after receiving a complaint from Cumberland Valley Electric of someone stealing electricity there. The deputy observed the meter had been removed and two metal butter knives had been inserted in the contacts. As a result, 29-year-old Matthew Standafer was arrested and charged with theft of services, which had been previously been arrested for on May 28, 2018. While at the residence, Deputy Hudson observed a pull behind DR Mower, which matched the description of one stolen during a burglary at Valentine Branch Road on May 9, 2018. Stander and his mother, Sheila Brock, 47, of Hinkle, were arrested and charged with receiving stolen property. They were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
