A Florida fugitive was arrested in Laurel County on Tuesday, July 3, 2018. The subject was arrested off US 25 following a foot chase of an individual that had been reported trespassing at an open air fruit stand. The individual gave his name as John McNeal, 38, of London, and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. Following a continuing investigation, information was developed that the individual had used someone else’s identity to avoid detection. On Thursday, July 5, 2018, Detective Sgt. Chris Edwards determined the individual’s correct identity as John Gabriel Wagner, 39, of Robinson Road, London. Wagner was wanted by Brevard County Florida’s Sheriff’s Office for grand theft auto. He is currently awaiting extradition back to Florida.
