With schools returning to session this week, Floyd County Schools is reminding motorists to be aware of buses on roadways in order to keep students safe. Buses will be on the road from 6am to 8am and from 2:45pm to 5pm every weekday. Safety tips for drivers include pay attention to the bus’s flashing warning lights and mechanical “stop sign arm;” make a complete when the bus’s warning lights are flashing or the stop sign arm is out; lower driving speed in school zones; share the road with buses; and obey the school zone speed limit.
