Bridge Rehabilitation Project in Pike County

The Kentucky Transportation is conducting bridge rehabilitation in Pike County on KY 610 between Penny Road and Save-A-Lot. The bridge will close to all traffic on Monday, August 13, 2018. The contractor has until November 30,2 108 to allow traffic back on the bridge. Highway District 12 Engineer Vince Hayes said they realize the work will impact school and work traffic but that the result will be a completely new bridge that is upgraded and safer. An alternate route is 1.5 miles longer than going through the construction work zone. The alternate route is KY 610 to KY 122 to KY 2167 to the intersection of US 23. On the opposite side of the bridge, motorists can take Penny Road to US 23 and backtrack to KY 2167, KY 122, and then to KY 610.
