The Kentucky State Police Post 9 Pikeville are currently investigating a murder in Johnson County. On Monday, August 27, 2018, around 7:50pm, Post 9 received information from Johnson County 911 dispatch that an individual had been shot at a home on Dixon Branch in the Volga community of Flat Gap. Upon arrival, it was determined that 58-year-old Mike Jones, of Flatgap, was deceased at the scene. The body will be taken to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy and cause of death.
