A fatal shooting incident occurred in Knox County on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan received a call from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office around 4:52pm requesting assistance on Higgins Hollow Road in reference to a shooting complaint. At the scene, it was discovered two male individuals had been shot. There was a brief barricade situation until the individual came out of his residence. Glenn Edwards, 57, of Gray, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Glenn Powell, 71, of Barbourville, the individual who barricaded himself inside the residence, was transported to University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment of injuries and listed in critical condition. Charges are pending at this time.
