On December 13, 2018, and December 19, 2018, the Kentucky State Police Post 8 hosted their annual Shop With A Trooper Program. The SWAT program helps children within the Post 8 area who otherwise may not have a chance to enjoy Christmas. The event began with a meal donated by Fazoli’s of Morehead and BoJangles, served at the Rowan County Public Library. Each child was given $100 to spend on clothing items and $50 to spend on games and toys. This year, Kentucky State Police Post 8 was able to host a record number of shoppers, with a total of 175 for both nights of the program.
