Attorney General Beshear’s Opioid Lawsuits Now Before Judges in Kentucky Courts

On Wednesday, January 16, 2019, Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear announced that the nine opioid lawsuits he has filed against pharmaceutical companies for allegedly flooding Kentucky communities with dangerous prescription drugs are all now before judges in Kentucky courts. Beshear has filed lawsuits in Boone, Fayette, Franklin, Floyd, Hardin, Jefferson, Madison, and McCracken. The McKesson Corporation filed a motion to dismiss Beshear’s lawsuit and the ruling is pending in Franklin Circuit Court. A hearing to dismiss a lawsuit against distributor AmerisourceBergen is scheduled in Floyd Circuit Court at 9:30am February 12, 2019.
