A Mississippi man was arrested on Sunday, January 20, 2019 in Laurel County. The arrest occurred off US 25 after Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a subject who appeared to be intoxicated and was out of control at a club. When deputies arrived, individuals escorted the subject outside. The individual, identified as 23-year-old Jeremy Washington, of Columbus, Mississippi, was noted as emitting a strong odor of alcohol, as well as had slurred speech, trouble balancing, and needed assistance with standing. Washington was determined to be under the influence and was charged with public intoxication. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
