2019 Kentucky Derby Poster Contest for High School Students Announced

First Lady Glenna Bevin has announced the launch of the 2019 Kentucky Derby Poster Contest for high school students in the Commonwealth. The contest is for high school students grades 9th through 12th across Kentucky to create the official Governor’s Derby Poster, to be displayed in the State Capitol. The theme is: “What does Derby Day look like to you?” Three contest finalists will be invited to attend a luncheon at the Governor’s Mansion, where the winner will be revealed. The first-place winner will receive the opportunity to attend the Kentucky Derby Festival Luncheon and the Derby Eve Gala as a guest of the Governor and First Lady and will receive a $500 scholarship. Second place will receive a $300 scholarship and third place a $200 scholarship from Derby Celebration, Inc. The deadline for submission is February 28, 2019.
