Floyd County Schools Announce Results for Elementary Governor’s Cup Competition from February 9, 2019

Floyd County Schools has announced the results for Elementary Districts 131 and 132 Governor’s Cup competition. May Valley Elementary and South Floyd Elementary hosted the meets on Saturday, February 9, 2019. In District 131 competition, May Valley Elementary placed first overall and in Quick Recall, finishing in second in Future Problem Solving. Prestonsburg Elementary placed second overall and in Quick Recall, finishing first in Future Problem Solving. For District 132, South Floyd Elementary finished first overall and in Future Problem Solving, coming in second in Quick Recall behind Betsy Layne Elementary, who also were second overall. Coming in second in Future Problem Solving was John M. Stumbo Elementary. The top five individuals in each subject area, the top two FPS teams, and the top two Quick Recall teams will move on to the next level. Regional FPS and Composition competition will be February 25, 2019 with other written assessments and quick recall competition scheduled for March 2, 2019 at Betsy Layne Elementary.
