Federal Appeals Court Upholds Ultrasound Abortion Bill

A federal appeals court has upheld the constitutionality of House Bill 2. HB 2 requires an abortion provider to provide mothers with an ultrasound and the opportunity to receive a description of what it depicts, as well as hear the fetal heartbeat, before choosing to terminate the pregnancy. Governor Matt Bevin released a statement, saying the decision by the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit affirms that patients should be well equipped with relevant information before making important medical decisions.
