On Sunday, April 14, 2019, around 7:46pm, Kentucky State Police Post 11, London was notified of a residential structure fire with a fatality on Sugar Lane in the Lily community of Laurel County. KSP Arson Investigator Brian Lewis and Detectives arrived on the scene and met with the Lily Fire Department. The body of 58-year-old Charles Barton was discovered inside the residence deceased. The cause and origin of the fire has not been determined at this time. Barton’s body was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.
