The Grand Jury of Martin County reported their findings from their special called session of April 22, 2019, concerning allegations of fraud and theft from the Martin County Water Board, on Thursday, May 2, 2019. They heard testimony by Investigator Mullins for the Office of the Attorney General on the following allegations: a $3 million grant received between 1999 and 2003 to improve the water district had allegedly been stolen; members of the board or others in Martin County were receiving free water; and misuse of district funds. The Grand Jury reviewed the testimony and evidence presented regarding the allegations and found no basis for criminal charges.
