Floyd Central High School hosted Step Up Day on May 28, 2019 for incoming freshmen, who spent the day learning about the high school and participating in different activities. Sonya Slone, Floyd Central Student Council sponsor, said the student council planned and organized the event, and Gear Up sponsored refreshments and had representatives on site to assist. Incoming freshmen were able to learn about different student groups, teams, activities, and classes, with teachers and coaches choosing leaders from their teams as representatives during the Class/Team Fair.
