Kentucky Receives ARC Grant for Leadership Program

The Appalachian Regional Commission approved a $500,000 grant to establish a new leadership program in Appalachia Kentucky. The BRIGHT Kentucky Program will engage bright, entrepreneurial minds from all sectors and regions to offer non-partisan, ethical leadership training, expanded networks, and mentors designed especially for residents of Appalachia Kentucky. Those selected will gain a deeper understanding of social and economic factors in their communities and identified strategies to create positive change through workforce readiness, education, local economic context, and to build skills in communication, collaboration, and community engagement. The deadline to apply for the BRIGHT program is June 28, 2019.
