Housing Development Alliance started building their eighteenth home this year in Perry County. 

Thanks to the organization Breathitt, Knott, Leslie and Perry counties are provided with safe and affordable housing. 

“The weather does not stop the work” says  Steven Hurt, the lead carpenter. 

Mary McReynolds is one of the many volunteers from the Perry Central JROTC, who is helping with the construction of the home.  “I’ve been coming to these since I was pretty little,” said McReynolds. “It is pretty impressive to see just a piece of land go to being a place a family can live and grow.”

Officials with the organization say they hope to have a family in the house near the beginning of twenty twenty.
