Deputies were investigating complaints off Jesse Smith Road in London Wednesday afternoon. When they arrived, they found a man at the front door and learned a woman and two grandchildren were inside the home.

Deputies found the woman, Debbie L. Hubbard, hiding in the bathroom with a .38 pistol. They said she pointed the pistol at two officers, who quickly disarmed her.

After searching the home, investigators found meth, hydrocodone, scales, pipes and other drug paraphernalia, marijuana, 28 long guns and 10 pistols. They also found collectible coins and a large amount of cash.

“Often times when we go to the home of drug dealers, we find a lot of the weapons are stolen, so we are trying to determine how many, if any, are stolen,” said Laurel County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Gilbert Acciardo.

Hubbard, 51, of London was charged with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, trafficking in a controlled substance, two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and trafficking in marijuana.

Johnny James Shoup, 64, of London was charged with trafficking meth, trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and trafficking marijuana.

Both were taken to the Laurel County Detention Center. The two children in the home were placed with other relatives by Social Services.
