One woman is dead and a man is seriously injured following a shooting in Pulaski County Sunday.

Deputies with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office responded to a house on Old Cuba Road in Eubank just after 4 p.m.

EMS discovered a man and woman with gunshot wounds. They responded to a 911 call of a person having respiratory difficulties and discovered the victims.

Pulaski County Deputy Coroner Danny Karriker pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

The man was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

In their preliminary investigation, deputies said the shooting happened because of a possible domestic dispute.

They also said there is no risk to the general public.

The names of the victims will not be released until the family is notified. An autopsy took place Monday.

Neighbors said it is unusual to see a large police presence in the area.

“I would like to hear an update,” said Ashlee Douglas. “Him and my husband were friends. He comes up here and does work for my husband all the time on his tractor. He helped us level off our land. Farm work. Just getting out and doing it. Country stuff.”

Douglas said her neighbor worked hard for himself and others, despite losing his legs while serving his country.

“It is tragic. You hate to see the outcome like this. Two lives. One didn’t need to go, and one didn’t need to be in the shape he’s in,” Douglas said.

Update:

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department has released the name of the woman killed and the man seriously injured in a weekend shooting near the Lincoln-Pulaski County line.
