Kentucky State Police are investigating a theft in Breathitt County.

A Breathitt County woman drove to her late mother-in-law’s house on Tuesday morning and he found the door with a large hole in it.

Her husband, Casey Allen had put up security cameras after the property was broken into last year right after his mother’s death. The camera’s caught the break-in.

According to Allen, the footage showed that the burglar made himself at home and had actually stayed on the property all night.

Allen posted on Facebook about the theft and asked for help identifying the man.

The comments flooded in and the man was identified as Craig Hollon.

“Mom had actually tried to help him by giving him odd and end jobs to do around here to try to just give him some money to help him out and get his feet back underneath him,” said Allen.

He said that he knew the Hollon family and the break-in did not come as a shock.

“Being in this community hearing other people’s stories of their dealings with these people it’s really no surprise,” said Allen.

Hollon took a vinyl plotter from his mother’s old sign business, an internet router, clothes and one of the security cameras.

“Conservatively I’d say it was right around $3,000,” said Allen.

Allen said his mother always looked for the positives in negative situations and that is what he strives to do.

“In a time where it’s so negative it’s so heartwarming and it’s a blessing to me to live in a community where there is so much support like that and I know that my mom would want me to point that out to everybody that’s watching,” said Allen.

KSP is looking for Hollon. If you know where he is you can contact KSP Post 13 at 606-435-6069.
