A man was shot in the head around midnight Thursday morning at a home in Ashland.

The man was flown to Cabell Huntington hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police Chief Todd Kelley said a woman called 911, telling dispatchers her boyfriend had been shot in the head.

It happened in the 3300 block of E. Holt St.

Chief Kelley says the woman is not a suspect in the shooting. Police have a description of who they believe was the shooter, but no specific information about a suspect has been released.
