Two arrested in connection to A&B Quickstop robbery

Just before 6:30pm on Saturday the 21st, the A&B Quickstop on KY 2258 was robbed at gunpoint.

One of the customers was at the cash register and grabbed the cashier at gunpoint took him behind the counter.Another customer jumped in to help. When he attempted to take the suspect to the ground, he ended up with a gun to his head.

The perpetrator then tossed a backpack to the clerk which she filled with money, of an unknown amount.

He fled from the store in a gray Mazda truck. Two hours after the robbery police found the truck abandoned at a local house.

Following an investigation into the robbery, the sheriff’s department went to arrest Alex C. Toothman, 21, of Artemus on Monday. He tried to run away but did not get far.

Toothman faces first-degree robbery, first-degree wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police, and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Police also arrested Alex’s father, Russell Toothman, 47, for first-degree complicity to robbery.

Both men were taken to the Knox County Detention Center.
