On Thursday at approximately 5:00 PM Martin City Police Chief Kenny Stidham, was dispatched to the area of Brawley Street in Martin, KY due to a male subject causing a disturbance and messing with people’s mailboxes.

When Stidham arrived, he made contact with Steven D. Thompson, 32, of Brawley Street.

Thompson was walking along KY Rt 1428 in Martin. Thompson refused to comply with the officer’s commands.

A taser was deployed and Thompson was arrested and charged with resisting arrest and public intoxication of a controlled substance (excludes alcohol).

Thompson was lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center.
