The Kentucky House passed a bill Wednesday to increase taxes on vaping and other non-cigarette tobacco products.

The measure would raise the estimated tax revenue by $50 million during the next two fiscal years.

The wholesale tax rate would increase from 15 to 25 percent.

Health officials are hoping a tax hike will discourage teens from buying those products.

The bill now heads to the Senate.
