A group of students at James D. Adams Middle School is working to ensure that their fellow students have the school supplies they need. The school’s GEAR UP club has opened its “Blessing Shelf” this week as a way for others to discreetly take the supplies they may need. The shelf has also received many donations, becoming more of a “take what you need, give if you can” situation for the students. The shelf is located in an open are, allowing for open use without question. Students say that the ability to discreetly take what you need is what the shelf is all about. The shelf is maintained by the students in the club, cleaning it if it needs cleaned and making sure that it is well-stocked.
