In yesterday’s daily COVID-19 report, Governor Andy Beshear reported 93 new cases and two new deaths, bringing Kentucky’s total number of cases to 687 and total number of Coronavirus related deaths to 20.
“We are in the surge.” He said.
Following the conference, health officials confirmed a second Coronavirus death in Perry County.
Using a projection based around the White House model of deaths released on Tuesday, Governor Beshear stated that it was possible that between 21,000 to 29,500 Kentuckians could die if social distancing guidelines are not followed. If social distancing guidelines are followed, a projected number of Kentucky deaths should peak at around 3,200.
More than 10,000 tests have been conducted in Kentucky.
The Governor also encouraged everyone to complete the 2020 census as it will help the rebuilding process.
