Officials announced two new cases of COVID-19 in Floyd County Wednesday, moving the total confirmed cases to five.
According to a statement from the Floyd County Health Department, the new positive cases, a 38-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man, are in self-isolation at their homes.
No more information was available about the individuals, but healthy department officials continue to stress the importance of being a responsible citizen.
“We are urging our people to stay healthy at home and continue to go out only if you must for work or to go for groceries or medications,” the statement said. “Please limit your contact with persons who do not live in your home. The virus spreads by the movement of people.”
