Around 80,000 Kentuckians applied for unemployment benefits last week. That number is down from the previous week by about 11,000. The number of jobless Kentuckians seeking assistance in the past seven weeks is approaching 700,000. That’s roughly 1/3 of the state’s civilian workforce.
