Tuesday COVID-19 Update

Yesterday Kentucky reached the 8,000 total confirmed case benchmark for Covid-19 as well the highest one day death toll since the virus was first reported in the commonwealth.

Governor Andy Beshear announced 164 new cases and 20 new deaths during the news conference on Tuesday. Bringing the states total confirmed cases to at least 3,069 and the death toll is now at 366. Governor Beshear says 7 of those deaths were from long term care facilities.

At least 2,826 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus and 153,800 people have received testing.

Testing has been expanded as well with several Walmart locations. One of those locations to begin testing is in Pikeville.

Governor Beshear recently announced that contact tracing in Kentucky is expanding to include an online database.
